    Updating and Renewing Global Entry

    • One Comment
    • Business Travel
    • By Rob Lee

Global Entry is the perfect program for anyone who regularly travels internationally – it saves you a whole lot of time when entering back into the United States. On arrival (at participating airports), members of the program can simply scan their passports and fingerprints at a kiosk, complete a customs declaration form, and go directly to the baggage claim area. No more waiting in long lines!

If you’re already enrolled in Global Entry and need to update or renew your membership, you may have some questions about the process. While we can’t help you make changes to your accounts directly at this time, we hope the below information will answer any questions you may have.

How Can I Find Out When My Membership is Set to Expire?

The expiration date of your membership should appear at the top of your Trusted Traveler Programs dashboard after logging in. You can apply to renew your membership when your active membership is set to expire in one year or less, or once your membership has expired.

What Are the Steps to Renew My Membership?

    1. Go to the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website and login to your account.
    2. Select “Manage Membership” – the Trusted Traveler Program Enrollment page will display.
    3. Select the blue “Renew Application” button – the Personal Information page will display.
    4. Use the application wizard to change your personal information by selecting the specific category/categories hyperlinks.
    5. When complete, select “U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program List” on the application wizard – the Trusted Traveler Program List will display.
    6. Click the box next to each program that you wish to renew.
    7. Select the enrollment center hyperlink to see a list of available enrollment centers.
    8. Select “Next” – the Trusted Traveler Program Application page will display.
    9. If a “FIX Errors” hyperlink displays, you must provide the information requested to proceed.
    10. To continue, select “Update” to go to the Program Application page.
    11. On the Program Application page, select “Certify” at the bottom of the page – the Certification page will display.
    12. Answer Yes or No to the question, “Do you certify?”
    13. Select “Next”. The Final Review: Application Shopping Cart will display.
    14. Select the box next to “Fees”. Fees are for application processing and are non-refundable.
    15. To agree and proceed, click here. The Home button changes to a Make Payment button.
    16. Select “Make Payment” – the online payment page displays.

What Are the Steps to Update Information Associated With My Membership?

You can make changes to information such as your address and phone number through your Trusted Traveler Program online account. You can also update your information online if you renew your passport or get a replacement for a lost or stolen passport.

Updating your passport or driver’s license:

    1. Go to the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website and login to your account.
    2. Select “Update Documents” on the right-hand side of your dashboard.
    3. Follow the prompts to update your document.
    4. Once updated, no further action is needed.

Updating your name or adding a new account document:

This is when updating Global Entry and other Trusted Traveler programs can become a little more complicated. Adding new information to your account that you didn’t include in your original Global Entry application requires a visit to a local Enrollment Center. For example, if you get married or divorced and change your legal name or if the issuing authority of your passport changes, those changes would need to be made in person. Find your nearest Enrollment Center by going to this website. You don’t have to make an appointment to visit an Enrollment Center, but it’s worth calling in advance to double-check hours and learn about wait times.
