Completing a new U.S. passport application online just got a whole lot easier. We recently created a video highlighting the exact steps you’ll need to take when filling out a new U.S. passport application online. Our video will walk you through the entire application process, which includes a list of all the materials that you’ll need to have on hand. The video is easy to follow and will help you fill out your online application with ease.
When you’re ready to start the video and fill out your application online, make sure that you have at least 15-20 minutes of uninterrupted time. This is the estimated time it will take you to complete the entire process. It’s also important to note that you will need to gather some materials beforehand, including:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your Most Recent Passport Number (if applicable)
When you have all the items you need and are ready to begin, the video will direct you to the travel.state.gov website. This is where you will be able to fill out your new U.S. Passport application online.
From here, the video will guide you through the entire process. Closely follow along with the video and perform all of the necessary steps. The application process will be split up into ten easy steps:
Step 1: Read and Accept the Privacy Policy
Step 2: Fill Out Your Information in the “About the Applicant Section”
Step 3: Enter Your Contact Information
Step 4: Enter Any Known or Anticipated Travel Plans
Step 5: Declare Your Emergency Contact
Step 6: Fill Out Information About Your Most Recent Passport (if applicable)
Step 7: List Any Other Names You’ve Had (if applicable)
Step 8: Select if You Want a Passport Book, Passport Card, or Both
Step 9: Select the “Expedited Service” Option and the “1-2 Day Delivery” Option (if you’re using Swift’s services)
Step 10: Print Out Your Passport Application Form and Sign Your Application in Front of a Passport Acceptance Agent
The entire process can be completed in the ten easy steps listed above.
