As of January 1st, 2017, the Kazakh government has agreed to suspend its visa requirements for US Citizens (as well as 21 other countries) for entry up to 30 days. This legislation is in part due to the upcoming EXPO-2017 on energy conservation and sustainable living. This means that you can save $180 or more from the visa process and enjoy the country’s rich culture and history.
Instead of traveling for 15 days, visitors may now stay up to 30 days. This means you may move more easily to and from the country without having to apply for a visa. Kazakhstan’s leaders hope this visa-free period will encourage a higher flow of foreign tourists during other international events in the country and improve its infrastructure in various sectors of the economy. If, however, you are planning to stay longer than 30 days, you will need to obtain the appropriate visa type.
