If applicant resides in these China Consulate Jurisdictions (Reference for proper China jurisdictions), please be aware of the following additional requirements:
San Francisco Jurisdiction:
- If you are on active duty in the military, you are not eligible to apply for a China visa at the Consulate at this time
- You must put your full residential address in section 5.1 of the application (street name, city, state, and zip code). This must match the address on your driver’s license or state ID.
- Every applicant must put now enter a national ID number (can be a driver’s license number, state ID number, or passport number)
- If the applicant is non-US citizen, they must provide a copy of their I-94 in addition to the visa copy
- If the applicant is a former Chinese citizen, the physical expired or current Chinese passport is required
Washington DC
- If you are on active duty in the military, you are not eligible to apply for a China visa at the Embassy at this time
- You must put your full residential address in section 5.1 of the application (street name, city, state, and zip code). This must match the address stated on your driver’s license or state ID.
- You must put the full address of stay in China in section 6.1E (street name, city, state, and postal code)
- The address of stay and the inviter information in the application is now required for tourist visas
- If the applicant is still employed, do not list an end date for their current job
Los Angeles
- If you are on active duty in the military, you are not eligible to apply for a China visa at the Consulate at this time
- If applicant has immediate family members that have served in the Military, applicant must complete the Previous Military Letter
- Regular visa processing time is currently 5-7 business days, determined by the Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles
- If the applicant is non-US citizen, they must provide a copy of their I-94 in addition to the visa copy
