Bolivia, known officially the Plurinational State of Bolivia, is located in western-central South America. The country is landlocked and is bordered by Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Sucre is the capital; however, La Paz serves as the financial center and home to the seat of government. Santa Cruz de la Sierra is Bolivia’s largest city and the principal industrial center.
Bolivia is a constitutionally unitary state that is divided into nine departments. It is the fifth-largest country in South America, spanning 424,164 square miles.
